24 x 30″. Deep-frame box canvas.
Original painting by Jay Fortune. DIRECT FROM THE STUDIO.
‘The late, great Ricky Jay. The remaining torn corner of a playing card held out, his gaze demanding our full attention, challenging us. Meanwhile, we fail to note the other hand, fingers gently curled, hanging without tension, escaping our attention. There’s a paused tension to this portrait, Ricky in mid-flow perhaps and we await his next line eagerly. Caught in the eternal mid-moment between cause and effect.’
A black background with a monochrome palette. Black edges. Fully certified. Reference photograph credit Richard Avedon.
