Month: September 2011
This Saturday, Oct 1st is the fourth Magic Moments day. This simple initiative started back in 2008 and has since become a day where more and more magicians perform for charities close to their hearts. Pioneered by Jay and his director Richard Leigh (a performer in his own right) this year’s event had a side project where magicians could donate easy-to-learn tricks for Magic Moments African Orphan Magic Trick appeal. Working with the WI in Zimbabwe, the appeal has so far raised over 350 tricks with the final total being announced shortly after this year’s Magic Moments day. Updates of shows, the Magic Trick appeal and more will be posted here and also on our dedicated webpage hosted by the UK’s biggest weekly magic news website: www.magicweek.co.uk
Jay will lecture at this year’s Magic and Meaning conference is Las Vegas. Due to his schedule, Jay is unable to appear in person, but his lecture will be screened to the conference this October. This is the first time Jay has lectured in the US… and really, seeing that he isn’t actually there maybe this is the first time he won’t be lecturing in the US! It’s all very confusing.
Magic and Meaning is the world’s leading conference dedicated to instilling magic with meaning, raising magic to higher levels of artistry and connecting with audiences.
A brand-new London variety show premiers in March 2012 in the Lost Theatre, London. This 180 seater will feature quality acts and is hosted by Jay. Details to follow.
